Prevent Mosquito Infestations with The Benefits of In2Care’s Mosquito Traps

Even if you are taking advantage of regular mosquito control barrier treatments, it may not be enough. Mosquitos are persistent and adaptive, often finding ways to thrive despite spraying efforts. You can prevent mosquito infestations with the benefits of In2Care System’s Mosquito Traps.

Targeted Mosquito Control

In2Care Mosquito Traps are specifically designed to attract and kill egg-laying female mosquitoes, effectively breaking their life cycle and reducing overall population. By focusing on the mosquitoes most responsible for spreading diseases, these traps offer a targeted approach that enhances your barrier treatments.

EPA Approved & Environmentally Friendly

In2Care utilizes biological agents that are safe for non-target species, such as bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects.

Field-Tested & Proven

Field-tested in high mosquito population areas, In2Care Mosquito Traps have demonstrated proven efficacy. Their innovative design and biological agents provide reliable results no matter the setting.

Comprehensive Coverage

In2Care Traps work in conjunction with other mosquito control methods, providing a multi-faceted approach to mosquito management. By combining traps with regular spraying, you create a more robust defense against mosquito infestations, ensuring comprehensive coverage and protection.

How Mosquito Trapping Works

Mode of Action Explained:

In2Care Mosquito Traps stand out amongst the competition of mosquito infestation prevention measures due to its unique mode of action. Unlike traditional bug zappers, which indiscriminately kill all flying insects, In2Care traps work to specifically target egg-laying female mosquitoes.

The traps lure mosquitoes with a water source that seems ideal for egg-laying. However, the water contains a slow-acting larvicide and a biological fungus that contaminates the mosquito, allowing it to spread the larvicide to other breeding sites before it dies.

In2Care’s dual-action approach kills larvae in the trap and works to reduce the mosquito population in surrounding areas by contaminating other breeding grounds.

Installing Mosquito Traps with an In2Care Specialist

In2Care Certified Specialist USA logo with 5 starts

At Pro 1, we are proud to offer the industry’s green standard for mosquito control with the In2Care Mosquito Station. This innovative product is exclusive to certified Pest Management Professionals (PMPs) and Lawn Care Operators (LCOs) such as our technicians at Pro 1 Pest Control.

Our training gives us the knowledge to install and service the In2Care system to maximize your mosquito control efforts as a stand-alone solution or in combination with other mosquito control methods. Here’s how our installation and maintenance process works.

Mosquito Trap Set-Up

We fill the In2Care Station with 1.25 gallons of water and activate it with a biocide-treated gauze strip from the refill sachet. The gauze is fitted on the floater component and remains dry.

We first place the station in its final position before adding the gauze-carrying floater on top of the water and then add the remaining powder and tables from the sachet before placing the lid on top and twisting it back on tightly.

The green time indicator can be used to monitor the time of placement and when our team of certified In2Care Mosquito specialists requires the next service.

Mosquito Trap Placement & Securing

In2Care Mosquito Trap Stations should be placed on solid, level ground in a shaded and vegetated area where mosquitoes like to breed. Some of our top trap placement locations include:

  • In the corners of outdoor porches
  • Underneath garden sinks
  • Near shrubs

Additional securing tools like ground pins or zip ties can be used for firm placement on different surfaces.

Servicing Mosquito Traps

Every 4 to 6 weeks your In2Care Mosquito Station will require a new refill sachet to refresh the biocide. Our pest control technicians will remove the old strip of gauze and the remaining water if dirty, assembling the station with fresh water and a new piece of biocode-treated gauze.

Custom Mosquito Trap Components

We can customize your In2Care Mosquito System for various environments and needs with a range of components including floaters, netting, and cap options. These additions ensure that your traps are effective in different settings and conditions, providing flexibility and enhanced performance.

Floater & Netting

In2Care’s floater and netting options are designed for use in bodies of water or areas with high moisture levels. The floater keeps the trap buoyant and stable, while the netting ensures that the trap remains effective by preventing debris from clogging the system. This setup is ideal for use in ponds, lakes, or other water features.

Black Cap Option

Available in several styles, black caps provide a sleek and discreet look. They are suitable for urban and residential settings where a modern appearance is desired.

Green Cap Option

In2Care’s Green caps blend seamlessly with natural surroundings, making them ideal for use in parks, gardens, and other green spaces.

FAQs About In2Care Mosquito Stations

Find information about the environmental impact, effectiveness, and safety of the In2Care Mosquito Station by reading answers to our most Frequently Asked Questions from home and business owners when they start using a mosquito trap.

The In2Care Station uses a unique and precise mode of action to control the mosquito breeding sites in the yard. Larvicides will be effectively spread only to target areas/breeding sites. In this way, no chemicals are unnecessarily spread in the environment. This minimizes the amount of active ingredients used and reduces exposure to bees and other beneficial insects.

The In2Care Mosquito Station is more than just a trap. It will trap and kill 100% of the larvae in the Station, but it is designed to allow the adult mosquito to fly out of the Station. The adult will spread the active ingredient biocides to other breeding sites, thereby also controlling the future mosquito generations. The In2Care product is more accurately described as a dissemination Station. Mosquitoes will lay their eggs inside the water-filled Station when resting on the powdered gauze. They will then be contaminated by the larvicide and fungus powder. They will fly out of the Station and spread the larvicide that sticks to their body to surrounding breeding sites when laying more eggs (See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGJ-vOHCykY ).

The fungus will kill the mosquitoes within nine days.

The In2Care® Mosquito Station is designed and EPA-labeled for the control of container breeding Aedes and Culex mosquitoes, including the day biting Aedes aegypti (Yellow Fever mosquito), and Aedes albopictus (Asian Tiger mosquito), which are known vectors of the Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika virus and breeds typically in (artificial) containers.

In2Care also controls several Culex species, such as the Southern and Northern House Mosquito (night biters), vectors of West Nile Virus and Dog Heartworm.

We do not expect an effect on non-target insects such as butterflies and honeybees, when used following the label. The chances that other insects will enter the Station (placed in a shaded area) will be low. Furthermore, I unique working of the Station, using the mosquito to spread the larvicide to surrounding breeding sites effectively, prevents the actives from unnecessarily being spread in the environment. Both biocides in the In2Mix® have very low acute toxicity and have been reported to have minimal impact on non-target organisms and beneficial insects. Compared to chemical pesticides via spraying/fogging, the deployment of In2Mix inside the enclosed In2Care Mosquito Station container causes minimal exposure to non-target.

We do not expect an effect on fish, such as koi ponds, when used following the label. Mosquitoes cannot transfer enough product to a typical pond to harm fish such as koi. To prevent the complete product from falling into the pond, it should not be applied directly next to ponds or to areas where surface water is present.

We do not expect an effect on people, pets, or birds when used following the label. The active ingredients used are not toxic to birds, mammals, or people. In2Care Mosquito Stations are advised to be positioned in shaded, vegetated sites that are hard to reach by children and to have a warning sticker to ensure people avoid opening the Station.

The In2Care Stations have twist-on lids that are difficult to open. And in case animals or people can approach them easily, they are advised to be secured/anchored into the soil.

Aedes mosquitos lay many eggs around a yard that can remain dormant for many months while waiting for water. Once the rain comes, many of the dormant eggs can hatch and lead to biting adults. In2Care Stations immediately started working to control this population increase.

However, reducing the population may take a couple of weeks again. In some cases, a one-time additional chemical application is applied.

Rain will not reduce the efficacy of the Station. The larvicide used is very potent and active at only 10 parts per billion concentrations. The water in the Station will contain enough larvicide to kill mosquitoes even when rain dilutes the content: results show it still effective at 2000-fold lower concentrations then what is in the Station when installed.

The In2Care Mosquito Stations are EPA (USA) approved for outdoor use. Mosquitoes will primarily look for breeding sites outdoors. Indoor breeding is not attractive for mosquitoes as fewer standing water sources are available and the environment is often cooler due to air conditioning. Mosquitoes can be kept out of the house by maintaining good screens on doors and windows.
